Graduate students Jennifer Polinski, Alycia Shatters, and Michael Studivan gave hands-on presentations and discussions to two second grade classes at St. Andrew's Episcopal Academy. They taught the students what kind of organisms are corals, why they study reefs, and how they study animals that live underwater. The team brought in all kinds of cool visuals, such as sampled coral fragments, underwater cameras, quadcopter videos, and SCUBA gear. Everyone had a great time and the second graders learned to love the ocean in their backyard a little more!
